This large resting area was initially set up to better accommodate groups of visitors during the Covid period (chairs are spread out) and became the NPEG second office (ke‘ena ‘alua) area in 2019.

The seating area is located on the edge of the north side gulch on the Lower North Side Trail that bends through the site and exits to the southeast in the direction of Kawai Nui Marsh. Heading out and uphill (southwest) goes to the park EXIT.

The trail heading east is the Gulch Cross Trail that will eventually drop down into the gulch and end up on the far side, clearly visible from here across the gulch.

To identify the plants right around you, see the green PLANT TABLE at the bottom of the page. Plant names are arranged in clockwise order in relation to the trails.

Face north when using this compass diagram.
